| What would you like to see on BlackHistory.com: |
| More people of all ethnicities and religions need to learn more about the rich history of African people, wherever we live in the world. The connection between Africans on the continent and Africans elsewhere needs to be stronger. Although I usually write about sports, I would like to see less emphasis on this site on entertainment figures and more emphasis on political figures, business leaders and other professionals because that would send a clear message to young people that they are capable of excelling in areas other than entertainment and sports. |
| What does Black History mean to you: |
| Knowing who we are and where we have come to provide a clearer perspective on where we still need to go. |
|
| My Life & Professional Aspirations: |
| staying healthy physically, mentally & spirtually |
| My Biography: |
I'm the author of Breaking the Ice: The Black Experience in Professional Hockey (Insomniac Press); Call the Yankees My Daddy: Reflections on Baseball, Race, and Family (Lyons Press); and the co-author (with Larryette Kyle-DeBose) of Charging the Net: A History of Blacks in Tennis (Ivan Dee).
I'm a graduate of Fordham University in New York. |
