The Department of Construction at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. The construction program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education. The program offers a BS in Construction Management as well as a specialization in Land Surveying. The department is housed in the School of Engineering. Responsibilities of the position include undergraduate instruction, research, and university and community service. Candidates for this position should embrace the Teacher-Scholar model, be student-centered, and demonstrate a commitment to experiential learning. Construction faculty members are encouraged to perform research with graduate students and serve on thesis committees. Faculty members are also expected to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.

Terms of Appointment
Continuing academic year (nine month) appointment: tenure eligible. It is anticipated that the appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level and will begin August 2018.
Commensurate with qualifications, experience, and credentials.

Qualifications & Requirements
Masterís degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a closely related field. Demonstrate a promising research agenda to pursue externally sponsored research and creative activities. A proven scholarship record. A demonstrated interest in university level teaching or similar.
An earned Ph.D. or All-But-Dissertation (ABD) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying or a closely related field. Management experience in the U.S. construction industry and professional certification or licensure is desirable. Strong interest in developing a graduate program. Ability to teach a variety of courses in the program; expertise in one or more of the areas of computer applications for construction, BIM, materials and methods, soil mechanics, senior project management/capstone, and/or surveying is desirable. Demonstrated interest in online/hybrid course development and advising and mentoring students. Record of Department, College, University, or community service.
