Intramural and Recreation Coordinator, Facility Management & Assessment (5842) |
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities and Informal Recreation, the Coordinator of Facility Management & Assessment is responsible for providing direction, organization, guidance and supervision of recreation facility operations, informal recreation and assessment components of the Campus Recreation unit.
Duties will include but not limited to-
*Oversee and exercise independent judgment and initiative in managing the facility operations of recreation, academic and athletic activities as they relate to the use of Campus Recreational facilities.
*Responsible for the organization, implementation and analysis of all department-wide assessment, survey and statistical initiatives.
*Provide leadership and supervision for assigned campus recreation personnel including the Building Service Sub Forman, two Building Service Workers and several student Building Service Workers.
*Responsible for maintaining the student employee incentive and discipline systems and aiding in the growth and development of all students, faculty and staff with particular emphasis on mentoring Campus Recreation Student Supervisors.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
The shift schedule for this open position is Tuesday Ė Saturday, afternoon and evening hours.

Qualifications & Requirements
1. A Bachelorís Degree in a field relevant to the position (e.g., Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Marketing, Student Services, or a closely related field, is required?).*
2. Two (2) years (24 months) of experience in the promotion, design, development, and administration of recreational programs.*
3. Current Certification/Licensure, from a nationally recognized professional organization, requiring continuing education and/or ongoing documentation of proficiency in specialty area required of position such as certified pool operator, first aid instructor, lifeguard certification, CPR, AED, personal training, the Group Fitness Instructor Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) or the Personal Trainer Certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) or similar license/certification etc.).
*Please Note: An advanced degree (Masterís or higher) in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or closely related field may substitute in meeting the qualifications in number 1 and count for one year of experience in number 2 above.
-Masterís degree preferred.
-Have a complete understanding of the Student Affairs philosophy as it relates to the provision of recreation, sport and leisure services to a University community.
-Knowledge and understanding of survey and assessment techniques in addition to facilities management/custodial services methods, equipment and inventory management.
-Strong oral and written communication skills, and strong management/supervisory skills.
-Two (2) years (24 months) of management/supervisory experience in recreation facility management and student development capacity.
-Personal and Instructor Certified for CPR/AED Certification.
