SALES INTERNSHIP
Hormel Foods Corporation has exciting Sales Internship opportunities! These full time, 40 hours per week internships will run from approximately June through early August and are available in cities across the country.
Opportunities are available in both of our sales divisions: Consumer Products and Foodservice. We typically have openings in our Dallas, Chicago, Detroit, Kansas City and Minneapolis Sales offices.
Sales interns will be responsible for calling on a variety of existing customers with the objective of increasing sales for their district. Increases are achieved by adding products to distribution and expanding the usage of existing Hormel Foods products. In addition, they are in charge of implementing marketing strategies for their products.
The intern will:
· Receive training on Hormel Foods products, selling techniques, route building, business planning, etc.
· Build a business plan for the territory and report results.
· Work with Hormel Foods sales and account management to gain new product placements.
· Make an impact from day one and contribute meaningful work that will impact the Hormel Foods bottom line.
· Have weekly feedback and evaluation sessions with sales management.
Preferred candidates should have at least a Junior status in Marketing, Professional Selling, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Hospitality, Hotel/Restaurant Management, or a related field with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and persuasive skills, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit. A requirement of this position is to be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have a valid work Visa. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Hormel Foods does not sponsor individuals for the purposes of obtaining visas.
Compensation consists of a competitive salary and a company vehicle. Please note that you will be responsible for securing housing for the internship.

MARKETING INTERNSHIPS
Hormel Foods Corporation has exciting opportunities for one more Brand Management Marketing Intern in our marketing divisions: Meat Products and International divisions. This full-time, 40 hours per week internship will be located in our Corporate Office in Austin, MN, and will begin in May or June and run for approximately three (12) weeks.
Summer internships in brand management are opportunities to work with key areas like the development and execution of marketing plans, development of plans to increase brand penetration, pricing strategies, and advertising projects. There are numerous opportunities to interact with all parts of the organization, including presenting to senior management.
Qualified candidates will have at least Junior status and be majoring in Food Marketing or Marketing with a minimum 3.3 GPA. These positions require strong analytical and communication skills. The successful candidates will also have demonstrated leadership and persuasive skills, strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit. A requirement of this position is to be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have a valid work Visa. A preferred International Marketing Internship Candidate will possess the ability to fluently speak another language (preferably Spanish or Mandarin Chinese).
Compensation consists of a competitive salary, paid housing, and reimbursement of all expenses incurred on the job.
