'A Message From The NAACP - What Can and Will You Do For The People?'
Gregory V. Boulware, Esq.

You're becoming a part of something great, Gregory.

By choosing to stand with the NAACP you are making a firm statement: I believe in civil rights and human rights for all. It's been our rallying cry for over a century, and we're honored to have you join our cause.

This is a pivotal moment. We are tackling issues with a direct impact on your life: defending the right to vote; expanding access to high quality education and health care; cultivating economic opportunity and improving public safety and justice across America. I'm confident we can make strides towards success on these issues with your help.

Over the past year, we have seen old battles rise anew — specifically, we find ourselves again fighting for the right of every citizen to vote.

This battle is nothing new, nor is the fierceness with which we are fighting against it. Millions of NAACP supporters like you are being empowered to build the type of world we want the next generation of NAACP supporters to grow up in.

And we have one very big thing on our side: we have overcome greater hurdles in the past. The NAACP was founded to eliminate racism and white supremacy and create the day when all Americans would stand shoulder to shoulder on a truly level playing field of justice. Our founders aimed to accelerate America towards the day when justice was realized for all people.

W.E.B. Du Bois said, "The battle we wage is not for ourselves alone but for all true Americans."

Stand taller knowing that you are a part of the NAACP.

Thank you,

...Will You, My Brothers and Sisters, join in this continued movement for the protection and betterment of Our Plight? Sadly, some will not.

"In light of recent events... terrorist attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK!
Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said okay!"

Brother Doctor Gregory Boulware, Esq. Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings to you.

When I was reading your blog about The NAACP, it brought back many fine thoughts of the projects they had going on in my youth. The person who comes most to light for me was Brother Roy Wilkins during The Civil Rights Movement of the early 1960s during the days of Rev. Brother Martin Luther King Jr. and I must not leave out Brother A. Philip Randolph, these people come to mind just like it happened 15 minutes ago.

What have the NAACP been doing lately?

Yo Brother Deacon Ron Gray! Many Salutations to You and Yours as well! :-)

Oh Hell No - We Will Never Forget Brother Wilkins, Dr. King, Brother Randolph, and many others who have made sacrifices...and the Ultimate Sacrifices!

Residing in the "Projects" is another piece of history that will never go away! ...These memories all come to pass in the twinkling of an eye. The mind's Eye is always and forever seeking and seeing!

...Here in Philly, with Brother Rodney Muhammed's leadership and wisdom; we are under a re-group in preparation of the coming events. I've become a member because it's part of my give-back to the well as all that I have published (books, articles, essays, and blogs) to and for the cause. Jerry Mondisier's (I don't really care if I misspelled his name or not) unreality simply drove folks away - me included. I really didn't like the man - rude as he was!

I'm hopeful that the movement will progress in the service for and of the people...for my part, it's simply support. I'll be attending the next meeting. The meetings here take place on the third Tuesday of each month. I'll be reporting back on the progress and strategies in the near future. Deacon, you know me, I'll definitely be reporting on what's happening or not...

You can count on it!

Back At-Cha Good Brother!

In Pride, Truth, Justice, Peace, and Love,

In Response to Your Request Brother Deacon Ron Gray!

The evening of December 20, 2016 was my first attendance to a membership meeting, since becoming a member as an official member as of December 1st. I was never one to join any particular organization, but this time, I felt a sort of calling. Normally this author supports any movement for the betterment of people, especially people of color and those who look like me. But this time, it seemed different. This reporter has continually supported major Civil Rights and the rights of all from the pen and paper as well as the keyboard. But this time it's different...

The meeting's evening experience was chaired very well and professionally with the exception of a momentary discrepancy concerning the recent elections of officers and committee personnel. One of the statements that stood out for me, was "In-house NAACP Business is to remain In-house NAACP Business!"

Sister Milling's report makes it plain and simple as it pertains to what's happening today within the 'Philly' chapter of the prestigious civil rights organization. She says it doesn't matter to her if you live in 'Yeadon,' ' The Main Line,' 'Bucks County,' ‘Camden,’ of ought to know who your local 'NAACP' chapter leader(s) are." Thera continues to explain the succession of events surrounding our local chapter, here in 'Philadelphia.' "We just had an election for officers on Saturday, November 19, and at the end of voting, the majority of the leadership remains the same as it’s' been for the last twenty-four months."

"WE Must Resist"

One of the most troubling prospects for 2017 is the nomination of Senator Jefferson Beauregard Sessions for Attorney General.

Senator Sessions stands against everything that you and I fight for: He's spoken out against the Voting Rights Act, and has described the work that the NAACP and ACLU do to protect civil rights as "un-American."

We must do all we can to prevent him from rolling back the rights and protections our parents and grandparents worked so hard to gain, and we've worked so hard to preserve.

The Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. And our president-elect has appointed Jeff Sessions, a man who's actively threatened to strip us of our rights throughout his career.

Can we trust someone with our rights — and our lives — with a track record like this?

Sessions was denied appointment as a federal judge because of racist comments he made to a colleague.

He opposed and criticized the removal of the Confederate flag from public spaces.

He once joked that he approved of the Ku Klux Klan until he learned its members smoked marijuana.

Too many of our brothers and sisters have sacrificed for the rights we have today. We're ready to battle for our rights in 2017 — and we need your support.

In solidarity,

Cornell William Brooks
