BlackHistory.com is an online encyclopedia and social networking platform. This 100% free online resource features information, pictures and video content about African American accomplishments. The site has five major categories: people, places, events, terms and organizations.
The goal of the web site is to assist researchers (students, teachers, parents and professionals) as they reach out to expand their knowledge about African American culture.
Visitors to the site can post their own profiles and pictures, and interact with other visitors.
Launched in 2007, BlackHistory.com is the first Black-owned online resource of its kind. Lee Moss Media, the company that owns the site, is a joint venture between Dante Lee (CEO of Diversity City Media) and William Moss (CEO of HBCU Connect).
Based in Columbus, Ohio - Lee Moss Media is a respected industry leader in the area of multicultural marketing, public relations, and diversity recruiting.
MANAGEMENT TEAM
Dante Lee is the 26-year old president and CEO of Diversity City Media, a multicultural marketing and public relations firm based in Columbus, Ohio. Founded in the year 2000, this award-winning company produces BlackNews.com, BlackPR.com, BlackStudents.com, BlackExperts.com, and BlackSpeakers.com.
Brittany Davis is the editor and content manager for BlackHistory.com. Originally from Chicago, she graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Journalism in 2007. She now resides in Columbus Ohio, where she loves the welcoming people and the small-city atmosphere.
William R. Moss, III is President & CEO of HBCU Connect, LLC and has been in this position since founding HBCUConnect.com in June of 1999. HBCU Connect owns and operates the largest Historically Black College & University website in existence and reaches approximately 350,000 website visitors each month.
